Washington Parish Tales

Washington Parish Tales, an anthology of stories, reminiscences, and factual accounts of Washington Parish, Louisiana is a book produced by the Friends of the Washington Parish Library in 2007. The initial order of the books sold out and a later second order also sold out. Recently, the Friends decided to order a limited number and offer them for sale for the last time. This popular edition has become a family treasure for those who own one, especially the families and friends of the approximately sixty authors who contributed to it. The books will be available at Leader Printing and the Varnado Store Museum in Franklinton and at the Franklinton and Bogalusa branches of the library. The cost is $45.00

As the Friends group celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and the Washington Parish Library celebrates its 70th , a reception will be held at the Franklinton library branch on May 1st and the authors of the Washington Parish Tales will be invited to attend. If you have a book and would like to have it signed by the authors, you may bring it that day. The books will also be available for sale during the reception.
